Title: Koi and Skull
Artist: Clark North
Tattoo artist Clark North hails from Huntington Beach, California and started tattooing in 1979 at age sixteen. Like most creatives, his interest in art started at an early age and has been drawing since he was four years old. His first experience with tattoos was in 1966, where his mom???s boyfriend was completely covered in tattoos. Clark would sit next to them as they drank coffee and smoked cigarettes, and would try and draw his tattoos down on paper. Clark would also draw tattoos on his younger brother, who was two at the time, and hand poked a few on himself at age thirteen. Clark North was mentored by Rick Walters in 1989 and received a seat in a professional shop in 1994. Clark is heavily influenced by Japanese Edo artwork and says his final goal is to be able to tattoo like a Japanese tattoo master.
